Nearly 6 in 10 Pak Mothers Reported to be Illiterate
In the latest National Nutrition Survey, nearly 59.3 percent Pakistani mothers have been reported to be illiterate.
The survey results issued by the Planning and Development Division of the Planning Commission of Pakistan showed that the proportion was almost double in the rural areas than the urban areas, the Daily Times reports.
According to the report, 36 percent of the urban and 69.4 percent of the rural mothers are illiterate.
The proportion of illiterate mothers was lowest in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) at 27.3 percent, whereas the proportion was highest in Balochistan at 58.2 percent, the report added.
