A new study published in the American Journal of Epidemiology has found no evidence that eating cured meat increases the risk of pancreatic cancer.

However researchers from the National Cancer Institute polled over 300,000 adults regarding a 124-item food questionnaire and found that just over 1,000 people suffered from pancreatic cancer over the next 10 years.
While the risk of pancreatic cancer increased slightly among men who ate highest amount of cured meat, the researchers said that the increase was so small that they can put it down to chance. There was no increased risk of suffering from the cancer among women.
