Obesity Lands American Boy in Foster Care

An eight-year-old American boy weighing 90kg is now in foster care after social workers found that the boy was often neglected by his mother.

He is morbidly obese and carries an elevated risk of diabetes and hypertension due to obesity.

This case is perhaps the first of its kind where state officials have sent a child to foster care following a weight-related issue.
