Ohio-Based Caring Things Introduces, Tympani, a New Smart Thermometer

There are lots of choices for a smart thermometer and even the entry level products show excellent quality. Caring Things, based in Columbus, Ohio, has recently introduced a new thermometer known as Tympani.

According to the company, this infrared thermometer plugs into your smartphone's audio jack to provide tympanic temperature measurements. An audio extension cable is included with the device and can be used when taking measurements that require a bit more flexibility.

The company has also developed an app for Android and iOS that displays and tracks temperature measurements from the device.

Unlike other infrared thermometers, the device working with smart phones requires no separate battery or display. This feature keeps Tympani compact enough to fit into the smallest of pockets.

Tympani takes just a few seconds to measure temperature. This feature is a distinct advantage over most other types of thermometers, especially when the patient is a crying baby.

Tympani is currently available for pre-order on Indiegogo for $25.
