One-Fifth of Scots Believe Jam Counts as Fruit
One in five people in Scotland believe that jam can be viewed as one of the recommended five-a-day servings of fruit and vegetables even though over two thirds of it is sugar, a new study conducted by researchers at Food Standards Agency reveals.
Scotland is third behind Mexico and Argentina in the obesity table with over 41 percent of Scottish men being overweight while over half of them can be termed obese.
Obesity rates are marginally better among women where 32 percent are seen as overweight while over 23 percent are obese.
