One in Ten Britons Think 'Moon is Closer Than Australia'
A new poll has revealed that one in ten Britons believe the Moon is closer to the UK than Australia.
The survey, conducted by Lynx Deep Space, has suggested that a third of Britons have predicted that humans will live in space in the next 50 years, the daily Express reported.
According to space physiologist, Dr Jon Scott, the public has many misconceptions about space travel, some of the most common being how far we are away from the moon or the sun.
The moon is approximately 250,000 miles away from Earth, the equivalent of 25 one way trips to Australia.
