The increasing lifespan of people across the world has brought with it many age-related diseases that have seen a steady rise in numbers in recent years. Osteoporosis is one of them.


It is estimated that over 10 million Americans suffer from this disease, the risk of which is very high in postmenopausal women. Of them, research indicates that 24% who have a hip fracture after 50 years of age die within one year.

Research also shows that 20% of people who suffer hip fractures require life-long care. In such a scenario it is vital to prevent the onset of osteoporosis.

This can be done by ensuing that people get plenty of calcium through natural sources such as milk and dairy products at a young age.
