Prize Winning Films Promote Organ Donation Awareness in India

Organ donation was the theme of an intercollegiate Short Film and Ad Spot competition for college students in Chennai conducted by MOHAN Foundation (Multi Organ Harvesting Aid Network). At a function held in Chennai, South India this evening, winners of the film competition and family members who were brave enough to donate the organs of their �brain dead' loved ones were felicitated.
Winners of the Inter-collegiate competition were judged by reputed film maker Rajiv Menon's team from his film institute Mindscreen which also offered a free workshop to guide the participating students in the nuances of film making with a vital message such as Organ donation.
In the short film category the first prize went to Dayalraj and his team from Hindustan College of Arts and Science, the second prize to Vijayan from Govt Fine Arts College and the third prize to Vishnu Kumar from Hindu College. In the Ad Spot category Sugeeth's team from Chennai Film School bagged the first prize, Santhosh from Anna University and Arunraj from Tagore Engineering College won the second and third prizes respectively.
Dr. Shroff, Managing Trustee, MOHAN Foundation welcomed the august gathering that included V.K. Subburaj IAS, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Govt of Tamil Nadu, South India, Prof Mohanasundaram, Dean Madras Medical College, P.W.C. Davidar IAS, Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Govt of Tamil Nadu, Dr. V. Kanagasabai, Director of Medical Education and Director Rajiv Menon who gave away the prizes to the winning entries promoting organ donation awareness among the Indian public through their films.
