It is being reported that Miss Mexico 2010, Cynthia De La Vega, has been axed of her title, as well as her bid to contest in the 2011 Miss World pageant, because she gained six pounds in weight.
The model, who was crowned Miss Mexico-world at the Nuestra Belleza Mundo pageant last September, made the sensational claims on the 'Good Morning America' show and spoke of how she felt "deceived".
Organisers of the pageant withdrew the 19-year-old last month, claiming she had a "lack of dedication and discipline." However, Vega insists the decision was made because of her weight gain.
"I was very, very excited because I thought this would be a great experience," Contact music quoted her as saying.
"I was very sad and very deceived. I cried and cried and cried," she said.
The 2011 Miss World contest will take place in London, England, at the Earls Court Exhibition Centre on November 6, 2011.
