Breast feeding problems especially in the first two weeks following birth of the baby can enhance the risk of postpartum depression among new mothers.

Breast feeding problems especially in the first two weeks following birth of the baby can enhance the risk of postpartum depression among new mothers.

Women who disliked breast feeding carried a 42% chance of postpartum depression compared to women who chose to breast feed.


This makes screening for depressive symptoms imperative for women with breast feeding problems.
