A group of Australian researchers claim that they have developed a simple blood test that can help doctors detect Alzheimer's Disease before the symptoms begin to appear.
Researchers from University of Newcastle in New South Wales revealed that they have conducted trials for the blood test on 566 patients and found it to be 85 percent accurate. The researchers added that the blood test will provide a cheap and non-invasive option for doctors to test for Alzheimer's disease.
Stating that the test can be used before symptoms begin to appear, lead researcher Pablo Moscato said, "Our study makes a considerable step towards cheap, non-invasive testing by identifying a blood protein panel to predict Alzheimer's disease in its early stages."
