The average content of a bowl of cereal with semi-skimmed milk is only 170 calories.
This is far less than the biscuits or pastry one might eat mid-morning when really hungry.
Oat-based cereals can help lower cholesterol, and those containing wholewheat or bran can be a valuable source of dietary fiber, along with many other vitamins and minerals.
