Skype Marriages on the Rise

Immigrants are using Skype to marry and gain US citizenship. According to the New York Times, not all US states allow proxy marriage, except for military couples, but in countries like England, Israel and India, they can be registered marriages in that country, which then can be recognized by the US, News.com.au reported.

George Andrews runs a company called Proxy Marriage Now, and said that he performed about 500 proxy marriages a year, and about 60 percent were not with a military spouse.
