A new survey carried out by a car insurance company in Britain has found that more than a million people had driven their vehicles when under the influence

Over 1.2 million said that they drove under the influence of illegal drugs. Cannabis was the preferred drug by the motorists with over 35 percent using the banned drug while cocaine and ecstasy tablets came in second and third place respectively.
Stating that driving under the influence of drugs is dangerous for other motorists, Direct Line Car Insurance’s Andy Goldby said, “Drug driving is as irresponsible as drink driving. The effects of drugs can often leave people feeling overly confident or extremely relaxed, both of which are known to lead to dangerous driving behaviours.”
