Swine Flu spreads Down South to TamilNadu
Swine flu has spread to TamilNadu and 11 persons have died due to swine flu in the state so far with over 300 persons being infected.
The government reported that 319 persons were affected due to the flu, 183 have been treated and discharged and another 103 persons were undergoing treatment in government and select private hospitals.
The state government had taken all precautionary steps and its impact in the state had been minimum though it was a seasonal flu. Six government labs and 13 private ones have been notified as testing centres. The examination done at the government labs are free of cost.
Chief Secretary-led panel conducts weekly review to take note of the situation and the government also conducts awareness and monitoring at places where people gather in large numbers, such as airport and railway stations.
