TB Screening in Hospital for Patients and Staff

Fears of tuberculosis infection to patients and staff of a Sydney hospital loomed large, after a worker in the hospital took ill with the infection.

Hospital authorities have allayed fears of patients and their families and have started preventive medication and tuberculosis screening for those at risk.

Special care is being taken for all those babies who were in contact with the worker. The immediate family members of the infants as well as colleagues of the worker are also under the scanner to spot any sign of infection.
