Young people can be quite adept at lying as compared to the older lot, reveals a recent survey.

University of Otago researchers found that older people are unable to lie convincingly like the younger ones. Further, the older lot are unable to detect others' lies.

The truth is that older adults find it hard to conceal lies and it become easy to spot their deceit. This is because, as people age, their cognitive abilities necessary to cover lies take a beating.

Further, the survey revealed that older people tended to lose track of conversations. Some of them could talk for too long on a topic. They also showed a tendency of deviating from the topic and talking irrelevantly.
