Trainee IPS Officers Test Positive for Swine Flu
Nine trainee Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have tested positive for swine flu at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.
The trainee IPS officers were admitted to different hospitals in Hyderabad. Three of them have been discharged.
Earlier on Thursday, Cabinet Secretary Ajit Seth had said there was no need to panic as there is sufficient stock of medicines.
He stressed that the states should ensure that the outbreak- monitoring cells and necessary help-lines function round-the-clock.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda has said that there is no dearth of medicines and hospitals are equipped to deal with swine flu.
Swine flu deaths toll has soared to over 700 across the country. Swine flu cases have recently been reported from states like Jammu and Kashmir and Nagaland.
