Tremors in India

Mild tremors felt in different parts of India.After Indonesia experienced an earthquake in the magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale off Aceh, tsunami warnings have been issued to 28 countries, especially the ones on the coast of the Indian Ocean.

After Indonesia experienced an earthquake in the magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale off Aceh, tsunami warnings have been issued to 28 countries, especially the ones on the coast of the Indian Ocean.


India has cautioned Andaman and Nicobar islands of tsunami after mild tremors were felt in different parts of the country.

Delhi, NCR region, Lucknow, parts of Punjab, Mumbai, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and Kolkata, Ooty, Chennai are some of the places that felt the tremors but no collateral damage or loss of life has been reported as yet.

People in Chennai have been advised to avoid the roads skirting the beaches.
