"The patient was morbidly obese, suffering from obstructive sleep apnea and fever and was admitted to ICU... Her condition was continuously deteriorating," said a spokesperson for Global Hospital.
Dr Minnie Khetarpal, Deputy Executive Health Officer, said, “Both the women tested positive for the viral infection after undergoing throat swab test.”
Around 60 people have tested positive for the H1N1 virus in July, including seven people over the last 24 hours.
A state official said, “There is a slight increase in cases across the state but we are vigilant.”
Nearly 8 to 10 cases of swine flu are being reported everyday. Maharashtra has been the worst-hit states reporting over 5,300 cases and 546 deaths.

Dr Om Srivastava said that patients with fever and sore throat should not delay consulting a doctor. State government has recommended vaccination for children, elderly, pregnant women and people with low immune levels.
