Work triggered asthma is a reality for pregnant women, putting the children under grave risk of breathing problems, a new study reveals.

This is especially so when pregnant women are exposed to certain substances in their work environment which can increase the risk of asthma in their unborn children.

During their study, researchers studied the health of 43,000 seven year old children and analyzed the work environment of the women when they were pregnant.

Women whose work involved shoes, glues, wooden furniture and paint had double the chance of children with asthma. This was after taking into consideration other factors such as smoking, pets and age.
