Glossary

Aorta: The aorta is the main artery in the body that supplies blood from the heart to different parts of the body, including the abdomen.


Aneurysm: There is swelling of a blood vessel due to defects in the arterial wall or weakness in the wall. Aneurysms are of 2 types: abdominal aortic aneurysm and thoracic aortic aneurysm.

Atherosclerosis: Atherosclerosis is the hardening of arteries due to deposition of fatty material along the walls of arteries. It is form of arteriosclerosis.
