1. Which doctor should I consult for Blood borne diseases?

A hepatologist or hematologist should be consulted for Blood borne diseases.

2. What is a pathogen?

A pathogen is an infectious agent such as a virus, bacteria, prion and fungus that can produce disease.


3. Can chlamydia spread through blood transfusion?

Chlamydia is a bacterial infection and can only be transmitted through sex with somebody with the infection. It is not possible to get it through blood, especially a transfusion.

4. Which hepatitis is blood-borne?

Hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), and hepatitis D (HDV) are all transmitted through exposure to infected blood. Hepatitis A is only rarely transmitted through the blood.
