Addiction: Psychological or physiological dependence on a drug. With true addictions, severe symptoms appear when the addicted person stops taking the drug on which he/she is dependent


Nicotine: An addictive chemical found in tobacco

Withdrawal: The physical or psychological state experienced when substances are withdrawn from an addicted person
