Glossary
Optic Nerve: The nerve which carries visual impulses from the retina to the brain.Retina: Light sensitive membrane at the back of the eye.
Sclera: The firm white fibrous membrane that forms the white part of the eye.
Slit lamp: Iluminated biomicroscope which allows focal and slit examination of the eye.
Optical coherence tomography: An imaging technique that provides high quality cross sectional images of the eye.
Filtration surgery: A type of glaucoma surgery in which an alternate pathway is provided for aqueous drainage.
