Glossary
Atrophy: Deterioration or wasting away of tissues e.g. muscle tissue.Avascular Necrosis: Death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply.
Gene: A distinct sequence of nucleotides forming part of a chromosome that carries the genetic information from parents to offspring.
Hip Dysplasia: A condition in which the hip socket does not cover the ball portion of the femur, resulting in partial or complete hip dislocation.
Osteonecrosis: Death of bone tissue.
Resorption: Absorption into the circulation of cells or tissue e.g. bone tissue.
Reossification: Regeneration of bone tissue.
Synovitis: Inflammation of a synovial membrane.
