Very limited medical treatments for paralysis are available. However, mostly rehabilitation methods are used for helping paralyzed patients to lead a better quality of life.

4. Can paralysis be permanent?

Yes, in certain cases it can be permanent. For example, in the case of spinal cord injury, if the spinal cord is completely cut, it cannot regenerate, and then the paralysis will be permanent.

5. Can paralysis be life-threatening?

Yes, sometimes. Although the paralysis itself may not be life-threatening, if it is caused by stroke, there is a high chance that the patient may die.
