Glossary
ADHD: Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, where the child faces difficulty in concentrating on any one thing, may exist alone or with other forms of behavioral disorders.Addiction: Psychological or physiological dependence on a drug. With true addictions, severe symptoms appear when the addicted person stops taking the drug on which he/she is dependent.
Hypoxia: Decreased concentration of oxygen in the blood
Withdrawal: The physical or psychological state experienced when substances are withdrawn from an addicted person
Detoxification: Treatment given either to fight a person''s dependence on alcohol or other drugs or to rid the body of a poisonous substance and its effects
Depression: Mental state of low mood commonly associated with feelings of sadness, emptiness, despair or loss of interest in life or worldly matters
