Peaches are juicy fruits, with soft skin and sweet flesh. The fruit most probably originated in China, and is now grown all over the world. Peaches are of two types: freestone and clingstone. The pit of a freestone comes out easily when the fruit is split, while clingstone peaches do not yield their pits as readily as freestone peaches. Both types of peaches come in a range of colors from white to rich orange from the inside and with a pinkish color on the outside. Peaches are a rich source of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other chemical compounds. The fruit has amazing health benefits for the eye, heart, skin, kidney and so on. The fruits are popular in various foods like fruit salad, dessert and pies.

1. Prevent Cancer: Studies show that the antioxidants like chlorogenic and neochlorogenic that are found in peaches can slow down the growth of breast cancer cells. Studies also show that lycopene and lutein in peach help protect the body against other chronic diseases such as colon, oral and lung cancers.

2. High in Potassium: Peach fruits are an excellent source of potassium and act as an electrolyte that is good for the heart. It improves blood pressure and reduces the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases. The presence of potassium in the peach can also lower the chance of kidney-related diseases. Therefore, enough potassium should be provided to your body by including peach to your diet.

Fights Digestive Problems: The alkaline substances found in peach fruit helps to fight against digestive problems such as gastric acidity, nausea, etc. The fiber content in peach fruit helps the body absorb the required amount of water for better bowel movement. Hence this helps in elimination of waste from the body and cleanses the intestines.
