Glossary
Hemolytic anemia: Anemia resulting from the lysis of red blood cells, as in response to certain toxic or infectious agents and in certain inherited blood disorders.Cholesterol: A fat-like substance found in blood, muscle, liver, brain, and other tissues in people and animals. The body makes and needs some cholesterol. Too much cholesterol, however, may cause fat to build up in the artery walls and cause a disease that slows or stops the flow of blood. Butter and egg yolks are foods that have a lot of cholesterol.
Pulmonary edema: Excess fluid in the lungs.
Apoptosis: A normal series of events in a cell that leads to its death.
Respiratory distress: Pathological increase in the effort and frequency of breathing movements.
