Recovery depends on the cause of ataxia. If the cause can be completely treated for example, in the case of low thyroid hormone levels or some tumours, then the person can recover completely from the ataxia.
3. Is vertigo and ataxia the same?
No. Vertigo is a feeling that either one's body or the environment is spinning whereas ataxia is a condition where the patient mainly lacks coordination. Vertigo occurs when the inner ear or its associated structures are affected.
