Glossary
Thrombocytopenia: Decreased platelet count results in bruising and bleeding. Blood takes longer to clot following an injury.Epistaxis: Bleeding from the nose is called epistaxis.
Menorrhagia: Excess menstrual bleeding at irregular intervals is called menorrhagia.
Hemostasis: When bleeding from an injured blood vessel is stopped due to platelets or due to a plaque obstruction or due to surgery it is called hemostasis.
HLA: Human leukocyte antigen is a protein found in all cells. It is used as a marker to match donor cells with the recipient's cells.
