Glossary

Sinoatrial node: It is the group of cells located on the wall of the right upper heart chamber; it generates the heart electrical impulses.

Atrium: It is the upper chamber of the heart.


Ventricle: It is the lower heart chamber.

Atrioventricular Node (AV node): It is present on the septum between the two atria. It receives the electrical impulses from the SA node and transmits them to the ventricles.
