A proper donor is required who is appropriately matched to the patient. The donor also needs to be healthy who can withstand the procedure.


2. How do I find the suitable donor?

The best donors are close relatives like siblings or parents. The next best choice is an unrelated volunteer who is tissue matched. They can be availed through voluntary organizations or other panels.

3. What is remission?

It is a state where the disease is not detectable or it is detected in a fashion that does not produce symptoms.
