Children too can develop depression. The symptoms could be very disturbing to the child as it can be interfering with the child's performance in school and other social activities.


3. Is depression hereditary?

The tendency to develop depression is more in a person with a family history of depression. Nevertheless depression can set in, even without any genetic interference.

4. Why are women more susceptible to depression than men?

The tendency to develop depression may be twice as more in women than men because of the hormonal changes happening mainly during menstruation, pregnancy and menopause.
