Why do you need an Endometrial biopsy?

The endometrial biopsy test is done To determine the cause of abnormal menstrual periods (prolonged or irregular bleeding, bleeding after menopause).


To screen for Endometrial Cancer, especially to detect atypical endometrial hyperplasia.

In the evaluation and treatment of infertility (the inability to conceive).

Biopsy results may indicate cell changes related to hormone levels, or the presence of abnormal tissues such as fibroids or polyps, which can lead to abnormal bleeding.
