Ganglions - Complications
The procedures both surgical and conservative have risks and include-- The reappearance of the ganglions after conservative treatment is very high.
- Ganglions can sometimes reappear even after surgery.
- Infection is a risk associated with both the procedures.
- Excision of ganglions could sometimes cause a loss of movement, instability of the joint, and damage to the nerve or blood vessel.
- A volar ganglion has a greater risk of nerve and blood vessel damage due to its proximity to the radial artery.
