Glossary

Diffuse Goitre: Enlargement of the whole thyroid gland making it smooth to touch.

Nodular Goitre: Development of solid or fluid-filled lumps called thyroid nodules inside the thyroid gland.


Hyperthyroidism: A kind of thyroid disease, where excess thyroid hormones are secreted.

Hypothyroidism: A condition where lower than necessary amount of thyroid hormones are secreted.
