Hot flash is an unusual feature that women face before, during and after menopause. It is a global phenomenon experienced by almost all women.


Few lucky ones escape from this symptom. Hormonal imbalance experienced during this time is what is exhibited as this external symptom

Progesterone can Decrease Hot Flashes in Perimenopausal Women

Hot flashes and night sweats in perimenopausal women can be decreased with oral micronized progesterone (OMP). About 8 of 10 perimenopausal women are affected with hot flashes and night sweats. There is no effective therapy for them. Women are often prescribed the birth control pill for hot flash symptoms, which may not be safe because woman's risks for blood clots and strokes increase with age and weight gain.
