Menopause - Diagnosis

Medically Reviewed by Dr. Nithin Jayan, MBBS, DNB on Jul 13, 2016

How is Menopause Diagnosed?

Usually no tests are required, however, in some women who experience an early menopause, blood and urine tests to measure the levels of estrogen, progesterone, FSH (follicle stimulating hormone), LH (luteinizing hormone) and plasma estradiol and estrone (part of the reproductive steroid group) are performed.

Sometimes an ultrasound is done to check the ovaries.
