Insulin: Hormone secreted by the beta cells of the pancreas

Insulin vial: A small glass bottle with a rubber top that contains insulin


Infusion set for insulin pump: A tube which connects the insulin pump to the body. It usually has a needle or a cannula at the other end which is inserted into the skin

Diabetic ketoacidosis: An emergency condition that could arise in type 1 diabetes patients due to lack of insulin.
