Kyphosis - Causes
The causes maybe categorized into two types:Congenital causes
- Poor development of the spinal cord of the baby, while inside the mother's uterus.
- Poor development or absence of the bones of the spine (vertebrae)
- Fusing of the spinal bones with one another.
- Spinal cord diseases like spina - bifida.
Acquired causes
- Poor posture
- Injury
- Osteoporosis
- Degenerative diseases of bones of the spine
- Infections like Tuberculosis of the spine
- Degeneration of the cushion- like discs of the spinal bones
