1. Which doctors treat Meniere's disease?ENT specialists or neurologists usually treat Meniere's disease.
2. Is Meniere's disease and endolymphatic hydrops the same?
Patients with Meniere's disease suffer from endolymphatic hydrops, however, in Meniere's disease the cause is not known. If the cause of endolymphatic hydrops is known, then it does not qualify as Meniere's disease.
3. Is vertigo and dizziness the same?
Vertigo is a type of dizziness in which the patient feels either he is spinning or the world is spinning around him in the absence of any movement.
4. What is the difference between Meniere's disease and ataxia?
Meniere's disease affects the inner ear and results in vertigo, tinnitus, hearing loss and a feeling of fullness in the ear. In ataxia, the patient has a problem with coordination. Vertigo is present along with incoordination in a type of ataxia called vestibular ataxia.
