FAQs

1. Which doctors treat menorrhagia?

Gynecologists normally treat menorrhagia.

2. Does bleeding between cycles amount to menorrhagia?

Bleeding between cycles is called metrorrhagia. In menorrhagia, the patient does not have bleeding between periods. If both heavy periods and irregular bleeding are present, the condition is called menometrorrhagia.

3. Can I take aspirin instead of drugs such as ibuprofen and mefenamic acid?

Though aspirin belongs to the same class as ibuprofen and mefenamic acid, it can lead to increased bleeding. Hence it should not be used in menorrhagia.
