Negative Calorie Diet - Pros and Cons
Pros and Cons
Pros:- Excessive weight is lost in a short span.
- This diet is extremely easy to follow since it does not involve any strenuous preparatory methods as the foods can be consumed in the natural form itself.
- Involves only consumption of Healthy Foods.
- Vegetables and fruits are rich source of vitamins, minerals and fiber thus they boost the body's metabolism.
Cons:
- Once normal diet is restored, weight is regained.
- Just the consumption of vegetables and fruits do not provide a balanced diet, which is essential for overall fitness.
- Calories being withheld all of a sudden cause a lot of physiological problems like:-
- Fatigue and Weakness
- Dizziness
- Edema
- Cold Intolerance
- Menstrual irregularity
- The diet is not scientifically sound i.e. very few practical proofs are available.
- Depriving normal eating patterns might disturb the person psychologically.
