Glossary
Cornea: Cornea is the dome shaped and transparent covering of the eye.Gram staining: A method to identify bacteria by staining with a particular dye. Depending on whether the bacteria take up the stain, they are broadly classified as gram positive or gram negative.
Cervical swab: Culture sample taken from the lower opening of the uterus through the vagina using a cotton swab.
Broad spectrum antibiotics: Antibiotics active against a broad range of bacteria.
