Glossary

Jaundice: Yellow discoloration of the skin and white(sclera) of the eyes

Bilirubin: Yellowish-red pigment that results from the breakdown of red blood cells


Cephalohematoma: Collection of blood under the scalp of a newborn due to birth trauma

Kernicterus: Severe condition where increased bilirubin leads to brain damage

Phototherapy: Treatment for Neonatal Jaundice using fluorescent light
