Pierre Robin Syndrome - Treatment

Medically Reviewed by Dr. Sunil Shroff, MBBS, MS, FRCS (UK), D. Urol (Lond) on Apr 19, 2013

Treatment

In mild cases, the condition is self-resolving and no treatment except strict monitoring is necessary. However, in cases of severe airway blockage, mechanical intubation may be required. In life-threatening airway blockage, surgical intervention is necessary. The cleft palate is treated conservatively or by surgical intervention depending on the extent of the cleft.
