Sleep Disorders: A Prelude - Glossary
Sleep bruxism: Repeated episodes of biting the teeth during sleep.Hypnotics: Sedatives that are given to induce sleep.
Sleep paralysis: an inability to perform voluntary movements which occur at sleep onset
Hpnagogic hallucinations: These are vivid, frightening, dream-like experiences that occur in the transition from wakefulness to sleep.
Seep hygiene: The life style modifications adopted to achieve good sleep
Hypoxemia: Decreased levels of oxygen in the blood.
Hypercapnia: Increased levels of carbon dioxide in the blood.
Cataplexy: The person has weakness in some muscles like for e.g. Facial muscles, following strong emotions like laughter or anger.
