Toxoplasmosis - Prognosis
Prognosis
Acute infection in children results in retinochoroiditis (inflammation of the retina). Toxoplasmosis in adults has a good prognosis if the immune system is healthy.
Chronic infection without any symptoms is usually harmless. In case of immunocompromised individuals the prognosis is poor as there is an increased risk of they contracting secondary infection due to reduced immunity levels.
